JOINED OXFORD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
Now in his fifteenth year of service for Oxford Community Schools, Superintendent Tim Throne is responsible for a number of district-wide initiatives including technology. During his tenure at OCS, Tim has helped spearhead several of Oxford’s signature programs, such as Oxford’s Reimagine Proposal, Fifth Core, Oxford Virtual Academy, Sister School relationships, and Strategic Planning to name a few. Most recently, Tim assumed administrative leadership of the Oxford International Residence Academy.
Tim has 25 years of experience in diverse academic and corporate settings. In the private sector, Tim worked for Andersen Consulting, Whirlpool Corporation, and Data Management Consultants.
Upon graduation from Kalamazoo College, Tim accepted a position with Andersen Consulting at the company’s world headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. Tim traveled throughout the United States to assist CEOs and top management who sought to implement executive information systems and decision-support systems. At Whirlpool, he helped to implement the organization’s first executive information system.
While at Data Management Consultants, Tim sold hardware, software, Internet access and training, along with consulting services, to many manufacturing companies and school districts in the state of Michigan and Ohio. In 1996, he helped Data Management Consultants attain the ranking of the 54th fastest-growing private company in the state of Michigan. Tim’s work experience with many clients in the education sector led him to secure his first position inside of a public school district when he moved to western Pennsylvania that same year.
Tim earned his state MSBO School Technology Management certification in the spring of 2004, and in January of 2009, completed his Executive MBA from the Ken Blanchard School of Business at Grand Canyon University. Tim completed his Central Office certification from Oakland University in 2014, and his superintendent’s endorsement as a participant in MASA’s Courageous Journey program in the same year.
