Oxford Community Schools is a Schools of Choice participant.  This allows students, who do not live within our district boundaries, to apply for enrollment.  The Oxford Community School board approves requirements for Schools of Choice candidates.  We have right of School Placement based on availability just prior to school starting.


Requirements

  • Student must apply during specific time frames
  • Student must qualify for the program and grade levels offered
  • Student cannot have been suspended
  • Student cannot have been expelled
  • Parents are responsible for transportation to and from school
  • Student must arrive on time to school

Developmental Kindergarten/Kindergarten - 9th grade - Unlimited 
Applications taken 03/01/17 and closes 08/18/17
*Children who turn 5 on or before 09/01/17 qualify for Kindergarten
**Children whose birth dates are between 06/01/12-12/01/2012 qualify for Developmental Kindergarten
***Children who turn 5 between 09/02/17-12/01/17 may register for both Developmental Kindergarten and Kindergarten WITH A SIGNED WAIVER RECEIVED BY STUDENT SERVICES OR THEY CANNOT ATTEND SCHOOL.
           
10th & 11th grades - Unlimited to IB, Bio-Med, Engineering Academy & Fine Arts Conservatory Programs (Approved candidates only)

9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grades - Unlimited to Oxford International Program
Applications taken  03/01/17 and closes 08/18/17

9th - 11th grades - Unlimited to Early College Program

School Placement
Elementary students will be placed after resident students who live within the district boundaries are placed.
 
Only the Parent or Legal Guardian can enroll a student and must:

1) Complete online Pre-Enrollment application in the Enrollment Gateway and set up an Enrollment Appointment
2) Bring all supporting documentation in person to Student Services to complete the student's enrollment with Oxford Community Schools.  Please do not fax or email your documentation. 

 Original Birth Certificate with raised seal
(2) Proofs of Residency (see below):
 
If you own your own home, please bring the following:
1) Current Mortgage statement OR current Property Tax statement, with your name, address and current date
2) Current utility, wireless, insurance bill or bank statement with your name, address and current date
 
If you rent your own home, please bring the following:
1) Current Lease with your name, address and current date.  If your lease has expired and is now month to month, please bring your landlord's name, address and phone number to verify status. 
2) Current utility, wireless, insurance bill or bank statement with your name, address and current date
 
If you live in a Shared Household another person, please bring the following:
1) Current Mortgage statement OR current Property Tax statement of the homeowner, with their name, address and current date. 
2) Current utility, wireless, insurance bill or bank statement with your name, address and current date
 
Immunization Record (available at Department of Health or Doctors office)
Health Appraisal completed & signed by parent
Vision Screening (Kindergarten & Developmental Kindergarten only)
Parent Driver's License (this only verifies who the parent is, not used for residency)
Legal Custody or Legal Guardianship Documentation (Divorce Decree, PPOs or Court Orders)
All Special Education documentation IEP & MET or 504 Plans (if applicable)
Current Student Transcript/Report Card
