PRESS STATEMENT – June 4, 2013

Megan Abbott, a 15 year-old Oxford High School freshman, was found on June 2, 2013, the victim of an apparent suicide.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 6 and Friday June 7 from 4-8 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford

The funeral will be Saturday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors.

A memorial fund in the name of Megan Abbott is being set up through Flagstar Bank. Donations will be accepted to assist with funeral and related expenses.  Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

OHS Seniors Take First Place in 2013 Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition

It took Joshua English and Michael Doell just 29 minutes, 10 seconds to diagnose and fix the problem with a 2013 Ford Focus SE, which earned the OHS seniors first place in the Michigan state final of the 64th annual Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition, held at the Macomb Community College Expo Center in Warren. High school teams from across Michigan were given the task of diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical "bugs" deliberately placed in the Ford cars. This winning team will compete for additional scholarship dollars and the chance to kick start their automotive careers when they represent Oxford, Michigan in the national Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn on
