Welcome to Daniel Axford Elementary! My name is Joyce Brasington and I serve as the principal of Daniel Axford Elementary. Before coming to Daniel Axford, I was the principal of Leonard Elementary, I was an assistant principal at Oxford Middle School and a high school counselor, English teacher, and technology teacher at Oxford High School.
While serving as principal at Leonard, we received the Michigan Exemplary Blue Ribbon Award in 2009.
I am a 1982 graduate of Oxford High School and still reside in the area. My daughter Jessica is an OHS grad and is now attending Michigan State. My daughter Jennifer attends Oxford High School. My husband, James, is a Registered Nurse at Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc.
Our students have incredible opportunties both inside outside of the classroom. We have an outstanding PTO which strengthens our family/school partnership. The family-oriented activities they plan are always a great way to be part of our school.
Our staff believes our mission is to prepare students to become lifelong learners and contributing members of the global society.
