Keystone Learning Center celebrated a special milestone on Thursday, October 22, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house. The event marked an exciting new chapter for the center and the families, staff, and students it serves. It was wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate such an important educational resource!

Keystone Learning Center is a new Oxford Community Schools facility designed to provide specialized educational programming and support for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The center offers an environment tailored to students’ individual academic, developmental, communication, and behavioral needs. The ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrated this new chapter and recognized the partnership with Oakland Schools, whose full funding of the center’s construction helped make the project possible. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to expanding educational opportunities and resources for students in our county and community.

District and Oakland Schools leadership, staff, and community members gathered for the event to celebrate the opening, enjoy refreshments, and connect with those who support the center's students. The open house gave attendees an opportunity to tour the facility and learn more about its programs, services, and learning spaces.

With a tight timeline and the goal of opening at the start of the school year, bringing Keystone Learning Center to life was a team effort. We extend a special thank you to Pam Biehl, Executive Director of Special Populations for Oxford Community Schools; Jessica Taylor, Director of Keystone Learning Center; and Beth Santer, Director of Special Education for Oakland Schools, for their leadership and important roles in bringing this project to life. We also recognize the many staff members and leaders from both organizations whose collaboration and support helped make the center a reality.

Thank you to OCTV for being on-site to capture the celebration! A video highlighting the event and the new center will be available soon on their YouTube page, giving community members who couldn't attend an opportunity to see the space for themselves.

Oxford Community Schools is grateful for its continued partnership with Oakland Schools and everyone who contributed to this project. We look forward to the many opportunities for learning, growth, and connection that await Keystone Learning Center's students and staff in their new space.
