Board of Education

The Board of Education is an elected body which serves as a trustee for the Oxford Community School District.  The seven school district residents, who are elected to four-year terms, express and represent the views of the community in issues affecting education.  They set policy, approve educational goals and curriculum changes, and provide direction to the Superintendent.  The Board has the fiscal responsibility for approving the annual budget and maintaining a balanced budget.

Community members are encouraged to attend board meetings and participate. Scheduled Public Comment and Unscheduled Public Comment on the agenda provide individuals an opportunity to address the Board. Regular board meetings are typically scheduled on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.

*If you are an individual with a disability who is in need of an auxiliary aid or service to attend a board meeting,
we are happy to make arrangements for you. Please contact Oxford Community Schools through the contacts listed below no later than 12:00pm on the Friday before a scheduled board meeting and accommodations will be made (two business days before the meeting).
