November 21, Special Education Workshop

Hello, Wildcats!

Oxford Community Schools is hosting Michigan Alliance for Families for a "Special Education Basics" family workshop. Michigan Alliance for Families is a statewide resource to connect families of children with disabilities to resources to help improve their children’s education. They help facilitate parent involvement as a means of improving educational services and outcomes for students with disabilities.

This workshop is an introduction to special education supports and services in Michigan.

After this workshop attendees will be able to answer:

  • What is the purpose of special education?
  • How do we get started if a child may need special education supports and services?
  • Who is eligible for special education?
  • What is the difference between an IFSP and an IEP?
  • Where can I find more information?

Who should attend? Families who have a child that may be eligible for special education, professionals who support children with disabilities or learning challenges, and other community members.

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
Location: Oxford Virtual Academy Learning Center, 168 S. Washington, Oxford
