October 23, Sex Education Advisory Board

Dear Oxford Schools Community,

On behalf of the OCS Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB), I am reaching out with the purpose of identifying parents and community members to serve on our committee.  Our new members will replace former SEAB members who have “graduated” with their students and/or others who have moved on due to natural attrition.

For our Advisory Board to be updated and in compliance with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), we are reaching out to identify a medical professional, 3-5 parents, 2-4 students and one clergy professional from our community.  We are hoping to create a balanced advisory board which represents all levels of parents throughout district (PK - 12).

For those who are interested in joining the OCS Sex Education Advisory Board, we are asking for a minimal two year commitment.  We will be meeting twice during the remaining 2023-2024 school year, beginning with our first meeting in December to understand the responsibilities of the SEAB (date yet to be decided).  In the Spring, the Advisory Board will convene again to continue the work of the SEAB.

If you are interested in serving on the OCS SEAB, please take a few minutes to complete this interest application form.  Our goal is to identify new SEAB members in November before we convene in December.

Thank you,
Steve Wolf
