December 13, Swatting Incidents in the U.S.

Dear Oxford Schools Families,

I wanted to make you aware of an email that occurred this week and has been received by many schools across the nation.  The email claims they are a Russian terrorist group and are threatening violence with explosive devices.

Law enforcement does not believe this to be a credible threat but believes it to be a part of a swatting campaign/hoax. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are investigating to identify the group or individual who has been sending these emails, and they will face serious consequences.

As always safety is our top priority for students and staff. Our security officers and staff are aware of the threats being made to school buildings and will be on alert for any suspicious activity near our campuses.

We encourage our students if they see something, say something. Students can report any suspicious or concerning behaviors to their teacher, principal, or any school employee. They may also report to, OK2Say. OK2Say is a safety program that allows students to confidentially report tips on protentional harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools.

Tips can be submitted to OK2Say 24/7 by:

-A phone call: 8-565-2729

-Text: 652729

-Email: [email protected]

-Through the OK2Say mobile app

-Online: ok2say.com

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Dr. Vickie L. Markavitch
