May 15, New Superintendent News

Dear Oxford Schools’ Community,

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you! Dr. Tonya Milligan, our newly appointed superintendent, is eager to hit the ground running and has worked out arrangements to begin her tenure earlier than expected. Tonight, the school board approved her requestto officially start leading our district on June 10, three weeks ahead of the original schedule.

This early start underscores Dr. Milligan's enthusiasm and dedication to the Oxford community and its educational mission. Her energy and vision begin a new chapter for our district, one filled with growth, rebuilding, and a focus on high standards of student achievement.

As we embark on this journey, we also want to take a moment to express our deep gratitude to Dr. Vickie Markavitch for her leadership and willingness to take the helm during a challenging period in our district's history. Her experience and dedication during difficult times have been invaluable. We wish her all the best in her re-entry into retirement!

Looking forward, with Dr. Milligan leading the way, we eagerly anticipate building upon the strengths of our district and our amazing people to work collaboratively toward achieving an even brighter future for our students, staff, and the Oxford community.

Sincerely,

Dr. Erin Reis, President
Oxford Community Schools Board of Education
