Dear Oxford Schools’ Community,
Last night, a tip was called in to OK2Say regarding a general threat made on social media. The threat referenced Oxford, not Oxford Schools specifically. The district was not informed of this tip by OK2Say but learned of it this morning. The Oakland County Sherriff's Office visited the home last night and determined the threat was not credible as there was no intention nor the ability to carry out the threat. Exercising due caution, Oxford Schools will not permit the individual on school premises and will notify all safety personnel accordingly.
Safety is a top priority. We appreciate the quick reporting and continue to encourage our school community to report school safety concerns in a timely manner.
